About the Author

​Christian Miller was born in Germany. He was gifted with a talent for Art, from drawing,  to photography and film making. After working for many years in various locations around the globe, he settled down in Australia as a professional diver.
It didn't take long for Christian to learn that the Oceans are under pressure. He tried to find ways to help marine animals, using his passion, knowledge and creative power. Through this journey he won several international photo, film and even the Pride of Australia award. Christian was then working with explorer Mike Horn on projects all round the world then became director of the Cairns Turtle Hospital, joined the Snotbot Team for leading research on whales, and Parley for the Oceans to eliminate plastic from our Oceans. He is a father of 3 beautiful girls, and believes in the power of education and inspiration, to lead the next generation into a safer future.

About Ella in the real world...

​Ella's book is inspired by a real story, a green sea turtle rescued in Cairns,  far north Queensland in the Great Barrier Reef. She has been successfully treated by Cairns Rehabilitation Centre on Fitzroy Island. Ella was different, with a big personality, and she loved to be a photo model.  Christian started taking photos of her, showing her special character to raise awareness, and eventually to raise the funds to build the Turtle hospital. 

This mission has worked and soon many more Turtles were treated, in what was becoming Australia's largest centre to care for these vulnerable and loved animals. When Ella was released with a tracker on her back, she swam a few circles around Christian, then waved good bye before returning back into the wild. Global warming with increasing sea temperatures, fishing  pressure, floating plastics and nets, water quality and less of nesting beaches is putting enormous pressure on these dinosaurs. 

It is most important to keep our Oceans healthy. We can support Sea Turtles by stop using single use plastic, convert to renewable energy, eat less fish or meat plus innovating new products and new materials that don't harm the Oceans.  Organise a beach cleanup, educate your friends and support Ocean conservation projects all around the world.

​This book is not only to spend quality time with your precious little boy or girl, inspiring them to explore and respect the Oceans and to teach them about our marine life and how to keep it safe.
​This book is also designed to raise the funds to actively build projects, such as the Turtle hospital in the story. Christian has been leading conservation projects all around the globe for over 20 years, and wants to continue repairing damage we have done. 
With your purchase he will be able to save many more marine creatures and assist emerging conservation efforts. 
Each book will raise a minimum of $10 going towards carefully chosen projects (depending on final printing costs & volume of orders.)
