1) Lissenung Island - Papua New Guinea

It has been a few years since I last visited Lissenung Island, but I know the owners, Dietmar & Ange very well, and they have always supported past projects I was involved in. Many people are currently struggling, but especially remote island nations are completely on their own. The Turtle project was self funded and established through fundings for the Dive activities & Resort. With missing tourism, the project has no resources. I pledge to give the first $10,000 raised by Ella's Adventures book sales to Lissenung. There are very few project I know, which such a high impact on both communities & the animals.
To learn more about the project check the website - Lissenung Island Turtle Project or look them up on Facebook.

Scouting

In nesting season, the island crew is heading out early every morning to check surrounding islands for tracks. Before poachers take the eggs, they will safely relocate them to Lissenung Island.

Community

The community and schools are getting integrated in the whole project, teaching them about the importance to protect our oceans and marine animals. This will change lives, and mindsets.

Release and Research

All data is recorded, from nesting success, species, numbers, DNA samples to weight & sizes, keeping beaches and island free from plastic plus rehabilitating sea turtles with injures as well.

2) Ocean Alliance - SNOTBOT

This is one of the very fortunate projects I have the privilege to be involved with. One think I have learned very early, whatever you do, it needs to be fun and rewarding, and with great people. In short, it's called Snotbot. The more we know about whales, the more we know what's wrong with the Oceans. I know this project inside out, and I believe it is helping to change science, it is inspiring a huge audience, especially the next generation. So many questions about whales need to be answered. Every one of these animals is worth saving.
Follow the program on whale.org . Ocean Alliance was founded in 1971 by Roger Pane, is based in Gloucester (cape cod) and has received 1100 of Ella's Book, equalling about us$ 20,000.  They will be sold across North America and the funds will directly support future Snotbot expeditions.

Science

Ocean Alliance’s mission is to protect whales and their ocean environment through research, scientific collaboration, public education, and the arts.

Education

Whales have the capacity to capture peoples hearts & minds - an empowered youth can change the world.

Innovation

This is the time of unprecedented innovation. Drones democratising Science and profoundly changing whale research.

3) Sevententh Foundation Australia

Most parts of the Great Barrier Reef are untouched or even unexplored. Scientists don’t have enough access to gather important data. The project will independently be able to access all areas of the Great Barrier Reef, conduct island surveys and cleanups, establish a coral restoration project, collaborate with other Environmental organisations and enhance their work through access and story creating. Sevententh will report insights from the Reef in a real creative, engaging and positive way, ultimately creating more love and respect for our Oceans.
With a unique approach, it will create youth leaders, by getting young adults involved in science and exploration projects. Check out the website here
